Support Food 4 Education COVID-19 Response
Food for Education is responding to the COVID-19 crisis with a plan to continue feeding schoolchildren safely even while school is out. Food for Education is a lifeline for many families in Kenya and our community of full and part-time staff are also vulnerable. We need your help to feed kids and maintain what we have built through this crisis. We are taking three steps to ensure food security and alleviate economic stress during this crisis.
1
Caring for our staff by providing full wages; safety training to combat the spread of COVID-19 and safety gear; health care support if needed
2
Setting up a food bank to feed all children enrolled in Food for Education and their families for 6 weeks. We will leverage our Tap2Eat technology and logistics to deliver dry food baskets to each family
3
Increasing our school lunch subsidy when school resumes to help parents through this time of economic uncertainty. The parents contribution through Tap2Eat will reduce from $.15 to $.10 for the entire 2020 school year.
